It is naturally for any woman to want to look pretty and stay in good shape. A bit of effort is required but it will go a long way in keeping that curve on the sides. As long as it makes us look good, it makes us feel good. So, let us all beautiful women use these 10 tips in keeping healthy and staying fit as part of fitness for women:

1. Balanced Diet

A healthy and balanced diet is essential (as we hear all the time) for staying fit. Keep track of the right weight for your age. Know the types of food that you should keep to the minimum or avoid and follow a eating discipline routine (consult a nutritionist or doctor if required). If you are trying to lose weight, keep to a regular proper diet with a healthy range of food. Keep away from high calories, sugar, processed or high fats food from your meals whenever possible. High fiber and low fat food are good choices for your grocery list.

2. Drink Plenty Of Fluids

Water consumption is important for our body to function well(especially lactating mothers who need to stay hydrated). It is advisable to drink at least eight glasses of water every day. Other types of fluids e.g. juices, etc are welcomed too, as long as they are not high in sugar content. Water helps to cleanse the body from impurities, keeps the body hydrated and can improve complexion too.

3. Take Vitamins And Supplements

Calcium deficiency is common in women especially pregnant mothers due to the loss of nutrients to their babies. However, it is also advisable for women of all ages to have sufficient calcium intake. Calcium is proven to prevent Pre-Menstrual Period (PMS) Symptoms and cramps. It also helps to prevent Osteoporosis especially in the case of women in menopause stage. Vitamin E is also encouraged for strong immune system, which is great in stopping night sweats and hot flashes while in menopausal period. It is also said to help prevent wrinkles and aging.

4. Quit Smoking

Studies have shown that women who smoke are more likely to contract high risk diseases i.e. breast cancer than men smokers. Women who are pregnant and smoke may transmit the harmful content of cigarettes to their babies through the bloodstream. This affects the baby’s health and growth in the mother and may also have health complications in their growing-up years. This is also true for women who drink alcohol on a regular basis.

5. Exercise On A Regular Basis

Try incorporating exercises in your daily routine. Use the stairs instead of the elevator, take a walk after your work or include some play activities that require physical involvement with your kids. Home exercises are equally effective for those who do not go gym(due to time constraint or availability) and can help to lose weight too. Take up Pilates or some strength training program for women that can be done at home. Effective exercises can lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases and at the same time trim some waistlines too.

6. Avoid Too Much Stress

Stress is okay, however too much of it can become detrimental. Women are prone to too much stress and this can result in many sicknesses. So, take time to relax whenever possible. Do some exercises, take up a sport or hobby, hangout with friends, go shopping or even a short getaway. Pamper yourself to a good massage or do some pedicure. The best is to get enough sleep to re-energize yourself and start fresh every day.

7. Use Sunscreen

If you are going to be outdoors for a prolonged period of time, use sunscreen. Even with little sun within our visibility, prolonged exposure under the harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun can hurt our skin. Too much sun is bad and it is usually the main cause of skin cancers. Too much of it will also speed up the aging of skin cells and cause unwanted wrinkles. So, remember to use sunscreen.

8. Brush Your Teeth

The smile of a lady can take the breath of a man away. And a beautiful set of clean teeth makes a woman gorgeous. So, always have it cleaned to prevent cavities and bad breath. Brush regularly or use some recommended mouth wash. Make an effort to book an appointment with your dentist on a regular schedule to keep that beautiful smile.

9. Regular Body Check-up

Women who are 18 and above should have a regular (yearly) physical examination with their doctors. Pap smear tests are highly recommended (usually included) for the checks. Women who are 40 years old and above are recommended to have their mammograms done. Regardless of age, the breast self-examination should be encouraged for matured ladies or those who have reached puberty.

10. Be Safe Not Sorry

For those who cannot maintain abstinence, safe sex practice is highly recommended. Use condoms to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. You are strong enough to walk away from a risky situation. Stay safe.
